My name is Sheila and I am the owner of SenseSational Learning Group LLC. I pride myself on continuing to evolve as a professional leader in the fields of early childhood education, behavior analysis, and graduate level research. I have extensive experience and knowledge of early childhood development, data collection and analysis of behavior change, organizational behavior management, and early childhood teacher preparation programs at the university level. I have conducted scholarly research and acquired applied experience in early childhood development with neurotypical and neurodiverse children. Play based learning is my passion and I gather inspiration from the Reggio Emilia and Montessori approaches to early childhood education. This includes arranging the learning environment in safe, open-ended, and aesthetically pleasing ways using the learner’s preferred interests to build upon functional play skills and social communication. I have a passion for helping early childhood educators and caregivers provide a literacy, play, and communication rich environment for their children utilizing low cost materials.​​

 

I am a proud mama to three independent, free thinking young children. My family enjoys reading, playing outdoors, creating nature based art projects, and cooking together.  I will graduate this autumn with a  Doctorate of Education in Early Childhood Education.
